Dr Michael Maguire
Orthopaedic Upper Limb Surgeon and Sports Medicine Practitioner

Dr Michael Maguire is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon and the founder of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre (MISC), a licensed day hospital on the Gold Coast dedicated to cutting-edge, image-guided surgical care. With almost 20 years of experience as an orthopaedics surgeon, Dr Maguire specialises in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques that reduce pain, scarring, and downtime. As a qualified Sports Injury Practitioner with a Master of Sports Medicine, Dr Maguire also treats a wide range of both upper and lower limb sports injuries.
A pioneer in ultrasound-guided surgery, Dr Maguire has developed and refined procedures that allow for faster, safer treatment of common nerve and tendon conditions—including carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow and rotator cuff pathology. He is an expert on surgical and non-surgical innovations and contributes to advancing safety and efficiency in day surgery settings.
At MISC, Dr Maguire leads a team committed to delivering specialist-level care in a streamlined, patient-first environment, working closely with GPs, physiotherapists, and insurers like WorkCover Queensland to ensure optimal outcomes.
Dr Adrian Pearce
Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal Doctor

Dr Adrian Pearce joined MISC (the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre) in 2025. He is Australian-born; however, he underwent his medical and surgical training in England. As a British-trained orthopaedic doctor with over 15 years of international experience and a special interest in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions, Dr Pearce provides surgical and non-surgical care, focusing on minimally invasive, evidence-based treatment.
Dr Pearce trained at the University of Manchester and the University of Melbourne and holds Membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed upper limb–focused training at centres of excellence in the UK, including Salford Royal and Royal Bolton Hospital.
He has published research in journals such as J Orthop Trauma and Bone & Joint Journal, and presented at major international conferences including FESSH, EFORT, and BOA. His academic interests include hand trauma, nerve decompression, and surgical innovation.
At the Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, Maguire Upper Limb, The Carpal Tunnel Clinic and Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists, Dr Pearce offers comprehensive care for traumatic and degenerative upper and lower limb conditions, working closely with referring GPs and allied health professionals.
